Florida Parent-Taught Driver's Ed

While your teen is ecstatic about finally getting their first taste of independence, you are naturally worried about their well-being once they hit the road. Will they follow the rules properly? Have they been taught the skills they need? Are they ready to handle such an enormous responsibility?

We are here to ease your fears with a Florida Driver's Education course that puts your teen's safety FIRST. With state-approved lessons and an online platform that adapts to your child's needs, you can rest assured that your pride and joy will learn every skill they require before ever sitting behind the wheel.

Whether your teen learns quickly or takes their time through each lesson... whether they like to take breaks between lessons or prefer to complete all 4 hours at once... this course is perfect for their learning style. While classroom courses force students to learn at a set pace and schedule, our online course gives them the ability to pick and choose the best way for them to absorb the information they need to learn.

As a parent instructor, you will be the primary supervisor over your child's learning and driving skills practice. We want to give you full visibility over exactly what your child will be asked to learn, so you can prepare yourself to help them in any way they may need.

The course uses text lessons in combination with videos, graphics, audio clips, and interactive teaching tools – all aimed at engaging their interest and eliciting participation in their education. They'll work through each chapter at their own pace, concentrating on one topic at a time as they go.

After passing their final exam, your teen will earn a Certificate of Completion proving that they have successfully taken a state-approved Drug and Alcohol Course. We will also report their success directly to the DHSMV. If they have taken their Permit Exam online as well, those results will be similarly reported to the DHSMV.

Even after your child has finished their Driver's Ed course and has earned their Florida license, your journey isn't over. Next, you need to establish ground rules and agree upon consequences while your teen experiments and enjoys their new freedom on the road.

To facilitate this process, we've included a free Parent-Teen Driving Contract with your teen's TLSAE course. The contract covers basic topics of responsibility – curfew, passenger policies, and even food and drink rules. You can both sit down together and have an open conversation about the restrictions and what the consequences should be if the rules are broken.
